What services do Onyx Accountants offer?
We cover everything a growing business needs from its accountant: year-end accounts, bookkeeping, tax planning and returns, VAT, payroll and auto enrolment, management accounts, forecasting, audit and company secretarial work. We also offer specialist services through Onyx+, including R&D tax relief, capital allowances, IR35 protection and funding advice.
What types of businesses do you work with?
We work with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, from start-ups to established firms with 20+ employees. We have particular experience in healthcare and dental, property, construction, recruitment, legal, manufacturing, hospitality, franchising and e-commerce.
Do I need to be based in Birmingham or Wolverhampton?
No. We have offices in Aston, Birmingham and Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, and we work with businesses across the Midlands and beyond. We’re happy to meet at either office (both have free parking), come to you, or work with you entirely online.
How much do your services cost?
Every business is different, so we tailor our fees to what you need. After a free consultation we’ll agree a clear monthly fee up front, so there are no surprises. Payroll is priced separately, based on the number of employees and how often you run payroll.
Will I have a dedicated accountant?
Yes. Every client gets their own dedicated Onyx team, led by a qualified accountant and supported by a client manager. You’ll always know who to speak to, and they’ll know your business.
Are your accountants qualified?
Our Client Advisors are fully qualified ACCA accountants. Many started with Onyx as apprentices, so they know our way of working inside out: no jargon, no nonsense.
Which accounting software do you work with?
We’re Xero Gold Partners and accredited with QuickBooks, Sage, Dext and KashFlow. If you’re new to any of them, your Client Advisor can arrange one-to-one training so you get the most out of it.
Is it difficult to switch accountants?
Not at all. We handle the move for you and liaise with your previous accountant, so the handover is smooth and hassle-free. Most of our new clients are surprised how easy it is.
